The myths we build when mourning can tear us apart.

Six months after the sudden fentanyl overdose death of his sister, the voices in Adrien’s head are highjacking his ability to care for his younger brother, Frank, who has Down syndrome, within this tight-knit but judgmental town. Paranoid, hallucinating, and ravenous for answers, the sudden return of his sister’s former boyfriend thrusts Adrien face to face with the man he blames and, finally, with the dragons of his own creation.

Set in small town America, St. George is a lyrical story about everyday heroes and the odyssey we take through personal and collective grief.

These are not new ideas, nor are these new characters. We echo Atlas with the weight of the world on his shoulders, and Icarus, flying too close to the sun. But make no mistake: St. George isn’t a thesis on the colossal. This is a story about normal people with good intentions, but without the skillsets needed to ease their suffering. St. George is simply a window into the lives of two men struggling to get home.
